Trump is not looking out for us by attacking Zohran Mamdani. He is, as always, creating a wedge to destroy the American fabric, connect antifascism to anti-Judaism, and make us indebted to his loathesome party for our protection.
I don't like this guy. I smell a left wing populist with no intention of passing anything and every intention of stirring up resentments and demonizing those who prevent him from passing what he wants, ie. everybody who disagrees with him, on the hope that one day he can pass a broad, sweeping, revolutionary batch of reforms on the national level; but it's much too soon to tell, and chaverim... even if it's not likely at all, he could surprise us. We'll know very soon.
Like Jeremy Corbyn, I have doubts he's an antisemite in the technical definition of the term, but they both have a gigantic problem with Judaism and Jews, and this is a guy who clearly has national ambitions. If he gets there, he intends to make us sacrificial lambs in an effort to achieve greater justice for everybody else, and that's barely any better.
But the worst possible thing for us is to make a martyr out of him. Every time his security and civil liberties are threatened, we have to stand with this asshole in solidarity.
This country needs much, much greater minority representation, but we will never let it happen at our expense.
