Every time I see or hear someone use the genocide canard, and there were two today, I get terrified all over again and my heart moves in ways it shouldn't. Perhaps the fault is mine, but I can't help feeling this way.
This is not just a word, this is the 'Christkiller' of our time: apartheid, ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity, democide, those terms are all on the table, all fair game with gloves off, especially now.
But if it ever becomes a commonly accepted worldwide belief that the Jewish state commits genocide, it may literally take two thousand years to stop the ramifications. Even if it's true, whatever we've committed in Israel will be repaid to us seven-fold at least. Not just Israelis, Jews. Jews everywhere.
Nothing about this excuses either the Israeli government or any Jew that supports them, but we are in danger just as they are, and if you don't believe me, just wait...
To those who haven't used it. Thank you. A thousand thank yous. To those I've found out who have, as far as I'm concerned, we're still friends, but I'm not sure if I have it in my heart to let things be quite the same afterward.
