New Classical Music: Asyla by Thomas Ades

Ecstasio. The third movement of English composer Thomas Ades's Asyla. A 120-piece orchestra imitates house music. It must say something interesting that Simon Rattle chose this piece as the very first of his tenure with the Berlin Philharmonic. But in any event, no big statement from here except to say that Thomas Ades is one of the few indisputable musical geniuses in the world today and this piece should lay to rest the notion that classical music can't engage with the modern world.
