Every time you think you know how gullible and stupid the Israeli public is, they prove themselves even more. The point is not to get rid of the Iranian regime, the point is to empower it. The more powerful the mullahcracy is, the more it props up Netanyahu as the only possible option for the foreseeable future, and to a lesser extent, props up Trump, though that doesn't seem to be working for the moment. The Iranian regime, in nearly fifty years, has never once started a pre-emptive war, but once they're involved, they bear any burden to win.
The point of this war is to take ten years, during which Netanyahu can position himself as the indispensable 'Mr. Security' in spite of the fact that he is responsible for October 7th. The point is not to make Iran lose money, but to make Iran GAIN money by the price of oil rising and its increased dealings with China and Russia. It already has. The point is not to replace Iran with a pro-West regime, the point is to prop up the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is hard line enough to make the mullahcracy look pro-West.
Just like before World War I in Europe, war fever has gripped Israel just like it grips the Republican party. You may think Israel has always had war fever: you don't know shit. This very well may be the 'mother of all battles' in the Middle East between revisionist Zionism and radical Islam that has been threatened for fifty years.
I know many people think Zionism is an original sin of imperialism. As usual, all I have to say is... the adults are talking. Zionism isn't that, 'revisionist Zionism' is, and there's a reason it's called 'revisionist.' The point was that the revisionists were ashamed of the original goals of Zionism, which they thought were embarrassingly collaborative with Arabs. The original Labor Zionism was willing to, as David Ben-Gurion said, accept a state the size of a postage stamp, something proved yet again by Yitzhak Rabin and Ehud Barack in the nineties. It is the revisionists, the Israeli right, who admires and apes the most violent methods of Brits and Turks, who perverted Zionism into what you see today. And being the opposite of the tolerance models you think you are, you stick the rest of us in the same place as you stick them. What can you possibly think is going to happen from that? You've already provoked the Israeli center to tack right for a generation, how many more generations are you going to reject us before you realize that you can change how Israel behaves by not grouping all Israelis together (and roughly 7 out of 8 Jews) with your anti-Zionism and snobbery? What most of you don't realize is that Netanyahu's father, Benzion Netanyahu, was the longtime secretary of revisionism's founder, Ze'ev Jabotinsky, and passed the ethos along.
But so long as we Zionists remain high on our own supply, so long as we stay in denial about the evil we're capable of, we will be in the death grip of a person who can kill us just as easily as he kills Muslims and sleep in his bed like a baby. If you think Israel is any more immune to evil than the rest of the world, you're committing a chilul hashem and are swallowing the poison of propaganda that's meant to get many of us killed.
